Porcelain Veneers

What are Veneers?

There are two types of dental veneers that people often refer to: porcelain and bonded (composite) veneers. Both varieties use material that is bio-compatible. This means veneers can replicate natural teeth function with no obstruction or interference to your daily routine.

Veneers are the ultimate and most immediate route to cosmetically augmenting your smile if you are suitable for treatment. One of the most important aspects of selecting veneers is choosing the right practitioner to sculpt your desired smile.

Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain Veneers are made of ultra-thin ceramic porcelain that is permanently bonded to your natural tooth enamel. They are commonly placed on the front surface of your prepped, frontal tooth to enhance your teeth for cosmetic and structural purposes. Porcelain veneers provide a more natural look, superior durability and are highly stain resistant.

Bonded Veneers

Bonded Veneers (also known as composite veneers, direct veneers, chair-side veneers or resin) are specifically crafted and bonded to your tooth enamel by a cosmetic dentist. Bonded veneers are made up of composite resin and shaped directly by our cosmetic dentist. It is very important to select an experienced practitioner who can provide the results you are looking for.

Bonded veneers are a minimally invasive procedure aimed to provide immediate results. The procedure is generally simpler, usually costs less and requires less wait time. However, bonded veneers do not last as long as porcelain, and are not stain resistant.

Which one is best for me?

The best way to determine which option to choose is to speak with our cosmetic dentist. Don't be afraid to discuss your expectations, anxieties, aspirations, and budget. We firmly believe in responsible aesthetics. The best option is always the one that best fits your specific needs.

Why do Porcelain Veneers Cost so much?

Much of the cost of porcelain veneers is to cover the high quality materials used in manufacturing your porcelain veneers. Doctor Vyshnevsky works personally with our master ceramist and only in one-on-one workshops to create a personalized smile makeover. Each individual porcelain veneer is custom-made from your 3D scan in a shade chosen by you. This highly individualized experience cannot be automated to save costs. The placement procedure is also a time consuming and delicate process, with many people involved. We also allow as many revisions as needed to achieve the desired result. To deliver the best outcome for our patients, we would never cut costs at the sacrifice of performance.

What to Expect

Getting Started

All smile makeover cases begin with a cosmetic consultation. This appointment will include an extensive examination and discussion with our cosmetic dentist and team of experts. During this appointment we will discuss your desired outcomes and provide recommendations on personally-tailored treatment options for you.

Cosmetic Consultations

A comprehensive cosmetic consultation with doctor Vyshnevsky includes a thorough examination and smile analysis. During your appointment, we will run through your treatment objectives and review any concerns and your desired outcomes.
This consultation with doctor Vyshnevsky costs $120; however, this is redeemable toward any treatment you choose to go ahead with. Please plan your time accordingly as the consultation appointment is approximately 60 minutes in duration.
If you are happy to move forward with the proposed treatment plan, we will proceed with a DSD (Digital Smile Design), an oral scan as well as clinical photos and records. These are kept strictly confidential unless consent is authorized by the patient.

Appointment 2

Prep Stage

Once your smile has been digitally designed, and the temporaries (or mock ups) have been made and returned to us, we are ready to try them directly on your teeth.
We can then adjust the temporaries according to your preference. At this point, there is a great opportunity to refine the shapes, color, and other characteristics to your liking. Since the temporaries are directly on your teeth, it is also easier to determine what may suit your facial features and characteristics the best.
Once all prep work is completed, impressions will be taken of your newly prepped teeth. These will be sent off to the lab so your final hand-layered premium porcelain veneers can be created.

Appointment 3

Try In / Cement

Once your personalized Veneers are made, we will remove your temporaries and try on your veneers with provisional (temporary) glue, so if any changes need to be made, it can be done on the spot.
We will then make sure that you are 100% happy with your new smile before anything is made permanent. Any changes that you would like to be made are either achievable in-chair, or adjusted by our master ceramist.
If you are in love and 100% happy with your veneers, it's time to make it official - let's cement them!
